Grade Standards

AFFI has worked for many years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) to develop and revise grade standards for frozen fruits and vegetables. Inspectors with the Fruit and Vegetable Programs in many instances either directly inspect or supervise the inspections of frozen fruits and vegetables.

The grading and inspection services for processed products fill a need for unbiased certification of products in domestic and international marketing systems. For sellers, these services ensure that products meet specific grade or contract requirements, and for buyers, grading services ensure that they get the quality they expect.
