Help fight unconstitutional, unrealistic federal food marketing rules
A federal Interagency Working Group (IWG) has proposed banning virtually all forms of food marketing to consumers aged 2-17 without providing any substantive evidence showing that such restrictions will improve childhood nutrition.
In calling for these extreme restrictions, the IWG ignored a direct congressional mandate to conduct a study examining the link between food marketing and childhood nutrition, and instead based its proposal on outdated assumptions and information.
The IWG would rob food producers, retailers and service providers of their free speech rights and enforce nutrition standards that would prohibit marketing for many healthy, nutritious foods.
Write your elected officials today and urge them to support efforts to withdraw these principles.
