FSVP: A Panel Discussion on Tips for Implementation
The Food Safety Modernization Act’s (FSMA) Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) implementation is upon the food industry. FSVP represents a paradigm shift, as it is the first time that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has regulated food importers. The requirements under the new regulation are very detailed and record-intensive, likely necessitating careful attention by all food importers—including retailers, brokers and food companies importing finished goods. Whether your company imports food ingredients and products or not, parts of FSVP could apply to you. Join Dr. Sanjay Gummalla of the American Frozen Food Institute on Wednesday, July 19, at 2 p.m. (Eastern) for a panel discussion on developing, maintaining and following a verification program that ensure foods entering the market place are just as safe as foods regulated by FDA’s preventive controls and produce safety rules. Webinar participants will also have the opportunity to ask industry and regulatory experts Laura Nelson of Alchemy Systems and Dr. Hilary Thesmar of the Food Marketing Institute pressing questions on FSMA’s FSVP.
